Famous Dave Anderson, widely acknowledged as the most decorated Pitmaster, is a true pioneer of the BBQ industry. Dave is an expert in cooking with smoke and fire. He began his culinary journey in Chicago. There, he developed a passion for ribs, which began after he tasted the mouthwatering, slow-smoked spareribs sold by street vendors.
In 1994, Dave's dream came true. He had traveled extensively and tried numerous BBQ places. Finally, he bought a resort in Hayward, Wisconsin. The first restaurant, "Famous Dave’s BBQ Shack," quickly became very successful, serving 1,000 customers in one night.
Dave's commitment to quality earned national recognition, with Famous Dave's winning prestigious awards for "Best Ribs" and "Best Sauce in America." Celebrated as the "Home of the Big Slab!" his commitment to excellence resonates in every bite of the renowned Famous Dave's rib.
